Concho Valley PAWS — Pets Are Worth Saving — is dedicated to saving homeless animals from euthanasia and helping them find loving, permanent homes.
We are the area's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to companion pets, but rescue is only the beginning. Through adoption, veterinary care, spay and neuter initiatives, education, foster programs and community assistance, PAWS works every day to make life better for pets and the people who love them.
Our ultimate goal is ambitious and simple: to end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals in our community.
PAWS rescues companion animals facing euthanasia at the municipal shelter and brings them under our protective umbrella.
Once in our care, animals receive the veterinary treatment they need — including sterilization, vaccinations, disease testing, parasite treatment and care for illness or injury — before moving toward foster care or adoption.
Healthy, adoptable pets remain in our care until a home is found.
PAWS works both inside and outside the adoption center to prevent homelessness, support pet owners and create better outcomes throughout the Concho Valley.
Buildings have changed. Programs have grown. The reason for doing the work has not.
